Clermont Farm has always been at the heart of the thoroughbred racing industry. With a history as rich as the pastures the horses roam, the facility is both beautiful and functional. It continues to be used as a training facility for thoroughbreds racing out of Saratoga, Aqueduct, and Belmont racetracks in New York, because of its convenient location between those tracks. Its not, however, limited to training for New York horses.
Boasting both indoor and outdoor tracks, the facility is able to keep horses in racing shape year round, regardless of the weather. The 3/16 mi indoor track has adjacent stalls and interior paddocks so that horses in work throughout the winter never have to risk the elements while staying fit and healthy. The 5/8 mi outdoor track has the same surface and rails that can be found at various race tracks.
The facility has over 100 stalls in multiple barns including the training barn, rehab barn, ship-in stalls, stallion and broodmare barn. All of the barns are well ventilated with plenty of windows to allow in natural light and keep the horses happy and comfortable.
Caretakers live on the property. Veterinarians and farriers are close at hand, to ensure that your horse always gets the full care they need to keep fit, sound, and happy.
In addition to being local to most of the major New York racetracks, we are also located just across the Hudson River from the HITS Saugerties show grounds that host the biggest horse show in the North East. While our facility is known for thoroughbreds, we also accommodate sport and performance horses of all disciplines when they need downtime or even to help with conditioning and fitness between show circuits and competitions.
